How Do I Work?
I know that all children (and adults) already have an intuitive sense of math principles gained by interactions with the world.
I strive for a low-demand atmosphere that allows students choice and autonomy. Authentic relationships and trust building are key for learning to happen.
I get to know your kid. I learn how your child sees things and work with them to connect their “kid sense” to formal mathematics.
I create math tasks that allow kids to solve problems and think for themselves. Not only is this more interesting than worksheets, it’s backed by educational research!
I work with individual students and small groups. I also work with parents who need support preparing for IEP and 504 processes.
My rates are $85 per hour for individual students. Rates for small groups vary depending on the number of students and how many sessions are planned. Session times run about 45 to 60 minutes depending on your child’s stamina and the activities of that session.
