What is unique about Inquiry 4 Teens ?
How do adolescent learners differ from younger students?
Adolescence typically brings changes in how students think and feel about learning. Teens experience a growing need to help determine the structure and routines of their lives. It is not surprising that teens are far less motivated to take part in typical learning tasks when we also consider the lingering inpact from our shared pandemic trauma, uncertainty about climate and political predictions, and dissatisfaction with previous science and math lessons.
Inquiry 4 Teens was developed from decades of successful teaching experience in public, private, and outdoor classrooms. We teach adolescents how to explore and document their own learning with creative investigations. We craft personalized investigations that match your teen’s unique interests and learning style. We feature your teen’s interests, build conficence in documenting their own learning, and promote autonomy, accountability, and future success.
What is the Inquiry 4 Teens process?
We craft personalized investigations to explore the topics you select. Our work highlights your teen’s interests while building in necessary science and math knowledge as we collect and analyze information, draw conclusions, and draft reports. This ongoing approach allows us to better know how your teen learns and help them communicate what they know. Here is an example of an investigation, with comments on each section: Investigating Solar Energy.
